Grade 12 Prom Parents Letter
致 12年级毕业班家长函
Dear Parents
of the Grade 12 graduating class,
亲爱的12年级毕业班家长们，
As you must
well know, our children have organized their Prom (school dance) to celebrate
the end of an exciting high school journey. Prom is a traditional event across
Canadian schools; it is a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy a special
evening that includes sharing a special meal together and having fun
dancing.
大家都知道，为庆祝顺利完成他们的中学学习，我们小孩正自发组织自己的毕业舞蹈晚会，在加拿大，毕业舞蹈晚会是中学生们毕业时的传统活动，也是学生们非常享受的一个活动，不仅可以分享美味食品，还可以以舞为乐。
Organizing
such an event required identifying a proper venue and negotiating costs, which
the Prom committee (a group of students) did on behalf of the Grade 12 class.
About 124 students to date have confirmed their attendance, and there is a
group of parent volunteers that will supervise the event.
组办这样的活动，需要相对适当的场所，费用等等，晚会的组委会已经为毕业班同学做出的选择，目前已经有124名学生确定参加此活动，活动当天也会有部分家长义务做好活动现场管理工作。
While we’re
very close to the date of the event, there is still an opportunity to
participate. If your daughter/son would like to attend Prom, they’re encouraged
to contact the Prom committee to indicate their interest. If financial reasons
are preventing participation, keep in mind that there is a potential source of
financial support that could either fully or partially assist with the cost of

As mentioned
above, there are currently 7 parent volunteers to supervise the event.
Additional parent volunteers are welcome; ideally at least an extra male
volunteer would be helpful. If interested in serving as a volunteer, please
